ECA Computer
I regret to inform you that the ECA computer in the student lounge has been abused by students. I would like to remind everyone that the ECA Computer is for ECA purposes only.
Also, on May 5th the computer was not switched off and thus was running overnight. This is detrimental to the CPU.
The computer will soon be password locked and students will need to get the council members to open it as the computers are the under the charge of SSD and thus SRC needs to keep an account of the usage.
Your cooperation in this matter is much appreciated.

Student Lounge
A number of equipment and facilities provided has been damaged in the past two weeks i.e. the piano stand in LT2, gym equipments as well as the glass of the Hall of Fame cupboard in the Student Lounge.
Miss Aznah from the Students Service Department would like to remind the students to handle the equipment with care as it is costly to keep fixing such items. Kindly handle these equipment in consideration of the next user.
On top of that, students are to inform the SRC immediately if they have discovered any damaged equipment. This is so that we can fix it as soon as possible and remove any dangerous items around that could bring harm to the students.

Important Issues
1. FOOD AND/OR DRINKS are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED in the Student Lounge (except for plain water). There is an allocated area in the SRC Office for the students to eat. You can always eat in the cafeteria as it is just beside the Student Lounge and is highly convenient. This is to ensure that a clean and comfortable environment is maintained in the Student Lounge.
2. Please SWITCH OFF the air-conditioning and television WHEN NOT IN USE. The Facilities and Management Department is very particular about this issue as it is a great wastage of electricity. Apart from that, the air-conditioning would leak from prolonged use. This could be dangerous especially in the gym as there could be a short-circuit of the equipment there.
It is highly important to follow these simple rules as the Student Lounge is a privilege provided to us. Should we fail to observe these rules, it would be difficult for the SRC to negotiate for further improvements and benefits for the students in the future. The cooperation of every student in this issue is vital.

All it Takes is 60 Minutes (Wee Kiat)
Well, since I'm so free after my Hustings, here's something for all of you to consider doing tomorrow:
The whole world has been talking about it.
You've seen it all over the place; television ads, billboards, email forwards, blogs, facebook. What is it you ask?
Global climate change is a problem that has been worsening over the past decades. Glaciers have been melting all over the Arctic and Antarctic region, affecting the lives of many Arctic animals such as penguins and polar bears. The sea level has continuously risen, and Malaysia just seems to be getting hotter every year!
In 31 March 2007, in an effort to fight global warming, Sydney made a powerful statement. By turning off its lights. What began as an effort by a single city, has caught the attention of the entire world. In 2008, a total of 35 countries and over 370 cities joined in the event, and now on the 28th of March 2009, you can lend a helping hand to make this Earth Hour even BIGGER. Be part of the 1 billion people in the fight against global warming, just by SWITCHING OFF YOUR LIGHTS for 60 minutes from 8.30 to 9.30 pm.
